John W. Watson, 82

Green Hill resident John W. Watson, 82, died March 28 at his home.

A dairy farmer and a member of Banks Cumberland Presbyterian Church, he was the son of the late Jessie and Beadie Vanatta Watson and was preceded in death by brother, Steve Watson and grandson, Barry Melton.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Bratcher Watson; daughters, Patsy Helton of McMinnville, Rose and Leonard Melton, Barbara and Virgil Hibdon Jr., all of Smithville; son, Charles Watson and his fianc?, Carisa Myers of McMinnville; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Christine Watson of Smithville; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Eddie Grisweld of McMinnville; aunt, Sally Hibdon of McMinnville; special niece, Ernesteen Cantrell of McMinnville; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Services were held Friday at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home Chapel in Smithville with Virgil Hibdon Jr., and Greg Hibdon officiating. Burial followed at Banks Cemetery.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home of Smithville was in charge of arrangements.
