Charles WilliamMcCormick, 82

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Charles William McCormick, 82, was born March 15, 1925 and died Jan. 30 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following a lengthy illness.

A nursery owner and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Amon Lewis and Wavie Marie Priest McCormick. He was married to Elaine Dorothy Derouin McCormick, who preceded him in death. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Junior, Harvey, Marvin, Roy and Yuvonne McCormick.

He is survived by two daughters, Penny Clendenon of Smyrna and Cheryl Partin of Estill Springs; five sons, Rodney, Mike, Pat, Dennis, and David McCormick all of McMinnville; 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; brother, Luther D. McCormick of McMinnville; five sisters, Donnie Lee Mason of Quebeck and Melvia Blair, Carolyn Buckner, Ann Blair and Linda Holder, all of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today in High’s Chapel with Kenneth Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Old Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service today at High’s.
