Couple celebrates 60th anniversary June 8

William H. ‘Bill’ and Georgia D. Church Brown celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 8. A celebration was held for the couple at the Morrison Ruritan hosted by their daughters, Barbara Taylor, Billie Barlow, Betsy Cantrell and Mattie Medley.
Mrs. Brown chose a classic suit for the celebration, accented with a white rosebud corsage tied with iridescent ribbon. Mr. Brown also sported a white rosebud boutonniere.
White floral arrangements were placed on tables, showcasing framed photographs of the couple’s 25th and 50th anniversaries. A three-tiered white fondant cake decorated with white confection roses held a white anniversary figurine.
Refreshments were served by the couple’s granddaughters, Michelle Cathcart, Kayla Patton and Megan Cantrell. Approximately 60 guests were present for the occasion.
Mr. Brown was owner and operator of the Phillips 66 Service Station in Newtown, and was also a member of the Centertown Volunteer Fire Department for 31 years. His wife was a longtime employee at Warren Regional Hospital. She enjoys sewing and spending time with her family that includes 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
