Rev. William Kenneth McNatt, 76
Rev. McNatt died Tuesday morning at Vanderbilt Hospital. He was a native of Lincoln County and a son of the late Sutton Marion McNatt and the late Lucy Anna McElroy McNatt. He was a graduate of Central High School in Fayetteville. He attended Morgan Prep. School in Petersburg, Tenn., where he played football. After being offered a scholarship from Ole Miss, he received Jesus Christ as his savior. Answering a call to ministry, he graduated from Southwestern University in Waxahatchie, Texas. Prior to his illness, being young at heart and a passionate Bible student, Kenneth had resumed doctoral studies at Oxford Theological Seminary?s extension campus in Dayton. As an ordained Assemblies of God minister, he served as evangelist and pastor for 50 years. Early pastorates in West Tennessee included Samburg and Conner. He pastored in Knoxville and Nashville. His final years of ministry were in his native community of Lincoln County. Rev. McNatt expressed his love for people and community through Chaplain services at Lincoln Regional Hospital and fellowship with the Lincoln County Ministerial Association. One of his favorite moments was attending the National Prayer Conference in Seoul, Korea.
Preceded in death by his son-in-law, David Bryant England, he is survived by wife, Mildred Talbert McNatt of Howell; daughter, Lucia England Wheeler of Nashville/Howell; son, Michael McNatt and wife, Lisa; daughter, Linda Posey and husband, Bobby of Fayetteville; son, Kenny McNatt, and wife, Amy of McMinnville; grandchildren, Tavis England and wife, Lori Beth of Fayetteville; Lucas England of Lebanon; Tristan McNatt and Addison McNatt of Hermitage; Karissa Wheeler of Nashville/Howell; Bryant McNatt of McMinnville, great-granddaughter, Kendall Dacey England; brothers, James McNatt, and wife Claudia of Shelbyville; and Harold McNatt of Stone Mountain, Ga.; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Rev. McNatt was blessed with precious friends at the For-Mac Center and many other special people throughout his ministry.
