Franklin Delano Roosevelt George Jr., 69

McMinnville resident and Van Buren County native Franklin Delano Roosevelt George, Jr., 69, was born April 4, 1937 and died Oct. 29 at Stones River Hospital in Woodbury following an extended illness.

A disabled automobile mechanic and the son of the late Mack and Hallie Davis George, he attended the Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and seven brothers.

He was married to Nettie Lee Dodd George of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Cantrell and Joaquin Hernandez of McMinnville; son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Brenda George of Rock Island, five grandchildren, Carl George, Jr., Frankie Lee George, Kimberly George, Kristy Gail Mullican, and Mari Beth Bell; seven great-grandchildren, Austin Lee Cantrell, Krissy Bell, Gracie Mae Bell, Braxton Lee Bell, Ashley Mullican, Lacey Mullican, and Dakota Mullican; sister, Josephine Scott of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at High?s Chapel with Danny Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service today at High?s.

High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
