Jimmy Joe Rogers, 78

Spencer resident and Overton County native Jimmy Joe Rogers, 78, died Nov. 27 at his home after an extended illness.

A member of Belview Community Church, he was the son of Daniel Polk and Mary Zadie Davis Rogers; and was preceded in death by sisters, Dovie Findley, Katie Snodgrass, Mattie Prater and Margaret Keener; and brothers, Charlie and Dan Rogers Jr.

He is survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn Russell of Indiana, Bobbie and Jerry Overby of Spencer, Mary Davis and Joe Brock of Sparta; brothers, Truman and Kathy Rogers, Rufus and Joann Rogers, Tim and Bertha Rogers, all of Spencer, L.B. and Mary Rogers of Sparta; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Belview Community Church with Ricky Rigsby officiating. Burial will follow at Shockley Cemetery in Van Buren County. Visitation will begin at noon today, and will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at Belview Community Church.

High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
