Couple’s vows spoken in Nashville church

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Mark Edward Roberts of Tulsa, Okla. She is the granddaughter of Vidae Crosser, John Crosser Sr., Nathine Roberts and the late Clarence Roberts.
Parents of the bridegroom are Dr. and Mrs. Michael Ray Roberts of McMinnville. He is the grandson of Mrs. Ray Douglas Roberts and the late Mr. Roberts, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Winston Owen Carter Sr.
A prelude of wedding music was presented by pianist David Graham and guitarist Doug Roberts, cousin of the bridegroom. Friends of the couple from Lipscomb University were the vocalists. They included Martha Ann Brewer, Kelly Sutton, Andrew Buffington and Philip Henry.
Attending the guest register were Kasey Khoring, Lauren Major and Jill Williams.
Approximately 300 guests were in attendance.
Readings were presented by Angie Parker of Nashville and John Gresham of Oakland, Mich. Prayer and blessing were offered by the bride’s father.
White columns holding arrangements of hot pink roses and ivy decorated the chapel.
Placed on the window sills were tall, slender crystal vases containing roses, stargazer lilies, miniature pink Gerber daisies, bear grass and variegated pittsporum. The pew cones held pink and white roses, hydrangea and pittsporum.
The bride was resplendent wearing a Michelangelo design. The satin bridal gown with a silk organza overlay was styled with a strapless bodice, trumpet skirt and chapel length train accented with vintage beading.
Swarovski crystal hairpins secured the bridal veil edged in white satin ribbon. She wore pearl jewelry, a gift from her bridegroom. The bride’s bouquet was created with white, pink and hot pink roses, hydrangea, stephanotis and feathers.
Mary Heath Smith, sister of the bridegroom, was matron of honor, and Lindsay Lyles, was maid of honor. Both reside in Nashville.
Bridesmaids were Anna Roberts, sister of the bride from Tulsa, Okla.; Martha Ann Brewer and Holly Duncan, Nashville; Emily Olsen, Brentwood; Sara Plott, Jacksonville, Fla.; Amy Shapton, Cookeville; and Kelly Sutton, Birmingham, Ala.
The attendants were identically attired in two-pieced taffeta gowns. A tiny black taffeta belt accented the white sleeveless bodices worn with black tea length skirts. Each wore a pink rose in her hair.
The honor attendants carried nosegays of hot pink roses and black feathers. Nosegays held by the bridesmaids were pink and white roses, hydrangea and white feathers.
Lindsay Crosser of Winfield, Kansas, cousin of the bride, wore white organdy and carried a basket of pink rose petals.
Jason Osgatharp of Flintstone, Ga. was best man. Groomsmen were James Dickerson, Franklin; Joshua Dickerson, Nashville; Daniel and Nathan Roberts, brothers of the bride, Tulsa, Okla.; Anthony Dowell, McMinnville, and Joshua Roberts, Memphis, cousins of the bridegroom; and Greg Smith, his brother-in-law, Nashville.
The bride’s mother was attired in a dusty pink chiffon dress with tiny shoulder straps and a chiffon stole. The bridegroom’s mother wore blush pink silk crepe. Her two-pieced dress had a rolled organdy collar and three-quarter length sleeves. They carried nosegays of pink and white roses.
The bride’s parents were hosts for the wedding reception at the church with approximately 300 guests in attendance.
Forming the central arrangements were pink roses with candles and tall crystal vases with pink roses, stargazer lilies and pink Gerber daisies. The buffet table was enhanced with a large fruit display and candles. A crystal punch bowl placed on a mirror platform was surrounded with votives holding hot pink roses.
The three-tiered, white wedding cake was accented with pink polka dots and fresh pink roses. The bridegroom’s chocolate cake was garnished with chocolate dipped strawberries.
Servers were Kellie Davis, Elizabeth Kittrell and Kendra McCullough; Melissa Hunter and Amy Peterson; Eryn Agee, Amber Findley and Autumn Fletcher.
Numerous prenuptial parties were held. An engagement party was given in Tulsa by the bride’s parents. The bridegroom’s parents were hosts for the rehearsal dinner at M?re Bulles restaurant in Brentwood. A bridal shower was given by Mrs. Kelley Ball in White House; a tea at the McMinnville home of Mary Evelyn Winton was given by ladies of Christ Community Church; and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew C. Myers III presented a cocktail buffet at their residence. Hosts for parties given in Nashville included Christine Anneken and Ruth Rivera; Delta Sigma sorority sisters; and Mr. and Mrs. Shawn Duncan. The bridesmaids brunch was given by aunts of the bridegroom: Donna Dowell, Ann Roberts, Janie Roberts and Jennifer Boring at Martha’s at the Belle Meade Plantation.
Both are graduates of David Lipscomb University. She received a bachelor’s degree in organizational communications and is now attending law school at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is employed by Tennessee Grass Works.
After a wedding trip to the Florida Keys, the couple is residing in Knoxville.
