Collins, Martin say vows in outdoor ceremony
The bride is the daughter of Duane and Martha Collins. She is the granddaughter of E.D. Creel and the late Louise Creel of Cullman, Ala., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Collins of Decatur, Ala.
Parents of the bridegroom are Forrest and Teresa Martin of Rock Island. He is the grandson of the late William and Lillian Massey of Van Buren County, and the late J.L. and Lola Martin of McMinnville.
Mike Partin of Pelham, brother-in-law of the bride, was the officiant.
Attending the guest register was Katie McCorkle.
The lawn was enhanced with candlelight, baskets of fern and assorted fresh flowers. The wedding party stood near the creek that provided a natural setting for the nuptial ceremony.
The bride was attired in a two-pieced gown of white satin with gold and silver rum beads enhancing the strapless bodice. She held a fresh bouquet of lavender hydrangeas, white snapdragons, irises, lavender stock, wax flower, lavender and white larkspur, asparagus and flat fern and bear grass.
Kim Partin of Pelham was chosen as her sister’s matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Rebecca Lanier, Paula McCorkle and Keri Atterson. They wore gold shimmer frocks with crochet hem and fringe. Their gold organza blouses were tied at the waist. All four attendants carried fresh floral bouquets which were smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet.
Junior bridesmaid was Kayla Collins, daughter of the bride, and Macy Partin of Pelham, the bride’s niece. They wore silk suits in a lavender hue. Sprays of baby’s breath in their hair and each carried a swag of fresh cut flowers.
Flower girl was Maty Partin of Pelham, niece of the bride, who wore a lavender dress accented with an overlay of white batiste. Lavender daisies and baby’s breath decorated her halo.
Peyton Collins, son of the bride, was ring bearer.
Serving as best man was Clark George. Groomsmen were Mr. Martin, the bridegroom’s father; Lane Cantrell of Manchester and Kris McCorkle.
The bride’s mother was attired in a crinkle lace blouse and tea-length skirt of beige linen.
Mother of the bridegroom wore a two-pieced ivory dress with a tea-length hemline. The jacket had ivory and pearl buttons complimenting her pearl jewelry.
The bride’s parents were hosts for the reception attended by approximately 150 well-wishers.
For the wedding gala, a large tent placed on the lawn featured white toile, antique chandeliers, jeweled candle holders, magnolia leaves and baskets of fern. A large double ice sculpture was placed at a point of interest amidst the reception area.
A white chocolate swan and white roses topped the four-tiered wedding cake inscribed with “Happily Ever After” in Old English style script.
The bride is a Realtor associated with Century 21-1st Tennessee Realty and the bridegroom is employed by Bridgestone. Both are graduates of Warren County Senior High School and he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Middle Tennessee State University.
After honeymooning, they are residing in McMinnville.
