Paul Douglas Nunley, 57
McMinnville resident and Warren County native Paul Douglas Nunley, 57, died Dec. 28 at River Park Hospital after an extended illness.
A nursery worker and a member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Valdus and Mary Lou Russell Nunley; and was preceded in death by brother, Dee Nunley.
He is survived by his wife, Mary K. Nunley; daughter, Kacie Nunley of McMinnville; son, Micah Nunley of McMinnville; stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Glenn Griffith of McMinnville, Tammy J. and Alvin Bell of White Pine, and Candy K. Murphy of McMinnville; stepson and daughter-in-law, Ricky C. and Sherry Pepper of McMinnville; brother and sister-in-law, Willis and Tommy Sue Nunley of Grundy County; sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Jimmy Dodd of McMinnville; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Love-Cantrell & Cope Funeral Home with George Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until 9 p.m. today and 8 a.m. until time of service Monday at Love-Cantrell & Cope.

Norment A. Barnes Sr., 91
Former Waycross Postmaster Norman A. Barnes Sr., 91, died Dec. 24 at Satilla Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
A Fitzgerald, Ga., native, he lived in Waycross most of his life and began his career with the postal service in 1936. He was appointed Waycross Postmaster in 1952 by President Harry Truman. He retired in 1978 after 42 years of service. He was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a life member of Waycross Elks Lodge, a member of the Dutch Treat Club and a licensed airplane pilot.
The son of the late James H. and Lottie Mae Schaffer Barnes, he is survived by his wife, Margaret Estelle Lea Barnes; sons and daughters-in-law, Norment A. and Paula Barnes Jr. of McMinnville, Tom and Janice Barnes of Waycross; daughters and sons-in-law, June and Bert James, Susan and Mack Strickland, all of Waycross; brother, Pat Barnes of Sebring, Fla.; grandchildren and their spouses, Norment A. and Julie Barnes III of Duluth, Ga., Holly and John Jordan of Nashville, Melany and Michael Crothers of McMinnville, Paul Barnes of Suwanee, Ga., Kevin and Jenny Barnes, Barry and Melissa Barnes, Michael and Jessica James, Jeremy James, Brian and Heather Hodge, Jennifer Simpson, Jake Simpson and Stacie Strickland, all of Waycross, April and John McNeil of St. Mary’s, Ga., and Chris Strickland of Valdosta; nine great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services were held Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church with burial following at Oakland Cemetery.

Anthony Edward Crosslin, 80
McMinnville resident and Beech Grove native Anthony Edward Crosslin, 80, died Dec. 11 at River Park Hospital.
A construction worker with Sain Construction and a member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Britton James and Audie Elizabeth Frazier Crosslin, and was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Crosslin.
He is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Angie Miller, and Barbara and Junior Dunlap of McMinnville; son and daughter-in-law, Stoney and Janice Adams of McMinnville; brother, Danny G. Crosslin of Morrison; sisters, Clarine Elkins of McMinnville, Joan Sissom of Mt. Juliet, and Paulette Ervin of Lynchburg; six grandchildren and great-grandchild, Paige Myers.
Services were held Saturday at Manchester Funeral Home with James Sanders officiating. Burial followed at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.

William K. Dennis, 88
Spencer resident and Spencer, N.C., native William K. Dennis, 88, died Dec. 27 at White County Hospital after an extended illness.
A minister and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, he was the son of the late Elihu and Mary Krather Dennis.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Dennis; sons, William E. Dennis of Winston Salem, N.C., Harry K. Dennis of Jupiter, Fla., Robert G. Dennis of Spencer, Raymond O. Dennis of Fenton, Mich., and Ronald E. Dennis of Holly, Mich.; daughters, Julleen Ryckman of Cleveland, Ohio, and Sharon W. Warner of Grand Blanc, Mich.; 19 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Love-Cantrell & Cope Funeral Home Spencer Chapel with Joseph Blevin officiating. Burial will follow at Town Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service today at the Spencer Chapel.

Joe Claiborne Pennington, 87
McMinnville resident and Jacksboro native Joe Claiborne Pennington, 87, died Dec. 28 at River Park Hospital after an extended illness.
A disabled U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Church of Christ, he is survived by his wife, Kathleen Pennington; sons, Joe Kyle Pennington of Longview, Texas, and J. Kelvin Pennington of Brentwood; daughters, Neva Genay Moore of Gallatin and Edna Janice Crowder of Hermitage; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Crain Hill Cemetery with David Sain officiating. Graveside rites will be adminstered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be held from noon until 2:30 p.m. today at High’s.

Marie Vinson, 60
Dalton, Ga., resident and Detroit, Mich., native Marie Vinson, 60, died unexpectedly Dec. 24 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro.
A salesperson for Wal-Mart and a member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of Alton and Jetta Holder Vinson.
She is survived by sister, Martha Jean Vinson Sarem of Chattanooga; niece, Lani L.S. Sarem of Las Vegas, Nev.; aunt and uncle, Elinora and Phillip Vinson of McMinnville; several cousins and relatives from in and around Warren County.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at High’s Chapel with Odell Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Blues Hill Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Jan. 2 at Temple of the Lord Church, North Glenwood Avenue in Dalton, Ga., located behind Shaw Industries. Phone 1-706-226-5627.
