The announcement was made by AAUW member Tena Self during the annual recognition dinner held recently in the tea room at The Inn at Harvest Farms Lake.
In regard to Grandey’s fair work, Self noted that she has served as fair treasurer for three years, writing premium checks for all the winners. She is also in charge of the premium catalog, plants flowers to beautify the fairgrounds, orders and prepares ribbons for distributions to the multitude of winners, and more.
Carol is married to Steve Grandey, who has served as president of the fair board for nine years. They are the parents of a daughter, Beckee Bell, and a son, Shane Grandey, with five grandsons.
The honor recipient is employed by Ben Lomand Communications.
Receiving accolades as Member of the Year was Loyce McGregor, who chaired the committee and organized the annual Spring Art Show. The countywide event features the artwork of students from kindergarten through high school in a massive display exhibited this year at Magness Library.
Several other AAUW members were presented gifts of appreciation for their contributions toward the success of various club projects.
