We can’t ignore Christian values
TO THE EDITOR:
It seems many Americans are going to have to do some deep soul searching this election. This letter is mainly to Christians and people with Christian moral principles. It is past time for us to stand up and fight!
Romans 1:18 says, “The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth ?”
In 1960, prayer and scripture were removed from schools. The federal Supreme Court argued that Bible reading “could cause psychological damage to students.” The Ten Commandments were taken out of the public eye.
It is time we rise up as a Christian unit and fight the few who have been erasing God from our country. We need to express our opinion.
I have been teaching in the school system nine years. In that short span of time, I have seen both parents and children suffer the results of allowing God to be taken from our schools, our society and our country.
It is the Christian people’s lack of commitment to practice the teachings of Jesus, that has turned people away from church. Until Christians stand up and fight with the power of unconditional love, Jesus’ love, Satan will keep people blinded and bound.
We must be serious about the war we are in. No not in Iraq, but right here, every waking hour.
We cannot stay complacent nor can we just “play church.” We must strive to live as dead people with Jesus living through us.
Sincerely,
Lorraine Lavender
