Local golf tournament another chance to showcase our county
Through the years, this tournament has grown into Tennessee’s premiere preseason golf extravaganza. Boys and girls teams from 18 schools – from Knoxville to Cleveland all the way up to Warren County, Ky. – were in town competing.
In all, around 200 high school athletes and their family members converged on our community. Whether they stayed the night at a hotel, ate at one of our restaurants on their way out of town, or didn’t spend any money here at all, these out-of-town guests still received a taste of our hospitality.
Hopefully, we made a favorable impression.
In the fight to recruit industry and better paying jobs, we never know when an influential person may find his or her way to McMinnville. It may be on a business trip, or it could be for a golf tournament.
That’s why it’s appropriate for CEO Roundtable, a group of owners and general managers of local industry, to sponsor this golf tournament for the second straight year. In the battle to recruit industry, a well-planned tournament might be just the thing for Warren County to get its foot in the door.
