Kaiser, Martin says vows in church setting
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Boysen Kaiser Jr. of Memphis. She is the granddaughter of Catherine Hester Ledbetter, the late Andy Franks Ledbetter, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Boysen Kaiser Sr., all of Memphis.
Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Edgar West Martin of McMinnville. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cheatham Martin of McMinnville, the late Mary Alderman Locke and the late Benjamin Franklin Locke Sr., of Chattanooga.
Dr. Ernest Mellor was the officiant and Michael Charles Liverance of Memphis was soloist. A prelude of music was also presented by a harpist, organist and trumpeter. Attending the guest register were Kristianna Weichman Breed, Shea Curbo Pritchett and Lisa Karie Leatherman.
A colorful blend of spring flowers, including roses, peonies, lilies, tulips and gerbera daisies mixed with an abundance of greenery and candles, were displayed in urns and altar arrangements, on wreaths and windows and as pew markers.
The bride was resplendent in a White Diamond silk gown inspired by Princess Grace. The arched strapless bodice was designed with ruching on the left side. The full ballgown skirt featured a gathered overlay sweeping around the body, two floor length sashes on the left side and a cathedral length train.
Her tulle bridal veils, one elbow length and one cathedral length were edged with one half inch silk matching her dress and attached to a headpiece of pearls and Swarovski crystals. She carried a bouquet of Virginia Roses, white peonies and stargazer lilies with stems wrapped in silk and hand-tied with a large white silk bow.
Matron of honor was a cousin, Melissa Moore Amrhein of Nashville and maid of honor was Lauren Elizabeth Kaiser of Memphis, a sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Julie Catherine Martin, the bridegroom’s sister; Olivia Michelle Clifford, Melissa Beth Crowder, Margaret Allison Hudson, Lindsay Sawyer Landrum, Kristin Leigh Melvin and Marissa Lynn Murphy.
They wore two-piece dresses of green dupioni silk, fashioned with an A-line skirt and fitted off-the-shoulder V-neck bodice. Each held a bouquet of roses and peonies in shades of red, pink and orange tied with hot pink ribbons and bows.
Flower girl Emily Yarbrough Shores of Memphis wore a French handsewn dress of Swiss batiste. Her halo of baby’s breath and stephanotis was tied with French wired ribbon and she carried a basket of rose petals.
James Raymond Williams, a cousin of New York, N.Y., wore a French handsewn suit of Swiss batiste with button-on pants. He carried a pillow made of French lace sewn by the bridegroom’s grandmother.
Billy Justin Tanner of McMinnville and Whitaker Lee Askew of Washington, D.C., both fulfilled the duties of the best man. Groomsmen were Michael Trevor Allison Galligan and Gary Steven Phillips, both of McMinnville; William Franklin Bosdell III, Jonathon Patrick Conley, Tucker Davis Hines, William Bradley Koniewich and Taylor Zuroweste. Ushers included Fernando Boyd Greene of McMinnville, Neil Arthur Amrhein, Joseph Ford Canale, Cavett Robert Cooper, Christopher McCarthy Hill, Andrew Bevington Rolfes and Timothy James Westbrook.
The bride’s mother was attired in a two-piece dress of coral silk with matching shawl by Marisa Baratelli. A small ruffle trimmed the bodice and front wrap, hem of the floor-length skirt and on ends of the shawl.
Mother of the bridegroom chose an ensemble by Daymor Couture with pearls and crystalines on the bodice of the dress and sleeves of the jacket. The soft lemon color was enhanced by a long flowing trumpet skirt.
Each of the bridal mothers carried a nosegay of peonies, roses, bovardia and greenery of Italian rucus wrapped with French wired ribbon in shades of coral.
The bride’s parents were hosts for a wedding reception given at Memphis Hunt and Polo Club with approximately 500 guests in attendance.
The guests entered the reception through a grand arched entrance. The arch was decorated with lilies, larkspur, tulips, chrysanthemums, gerbera daisies, bells of Ireland, snap dragons and mixed greenery. The entrance was guarded by two bronzed Whippets with wreaths of peonies, daisies and mums that were tied with French wired ribbon.
In the banquet room, hors d’ oeuvres were served from a table draped in white linen and accented with an orange silk cloth. A towering Italian crystal vase of green calla lilies and red tiger lilies created the table decoration. There was also a table laden with Mexican cuisine.
A continuation of bright spring colors and flowers were used throughout the club and in an adjoining tent for the band and dancing. The Jim Johnson band played during the evening. The tent was draped in Jackson ivy and twinkling white lights with flower balls of pink roses hanging from the ceiling. Cloths of hot pink and orange covered the tables adorned with floral arrangements in small silver urns, silver baskets, tall candelabras and glass vases.
The bride’s table featured a five-tiered wedding cake made with rolled fondant and embellished with roses and elegant polka dots. The bride’s new monogram was displayed on the cake and was embroidered on the silk table runner.
The bridegroom’s cake was a 3-D replica of Neyland Stadium placed on a table covered in white linen with an orange and white checked cloth overlay. Forming the table’s backdrop was an orange fabric-draped football goal post framing a large picture of the bridegroom proposing to the bride on the 50-yard line at Neyland Stadium.
The newlyweds left for a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic and are now residing in McMinnville.
Numerous prenuptial courtesies were given to honor the couple in McMinnville and the Memphis area. The bridegroom’s parents were hosts for the rehearsal dinner at The University Club of Memphis. A wedding day brunch and Sunday morning brunch were also held.
The bride received a bachelor’s degree in retail and consumer sciences from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is presently pursuing a master’s degree in elementary education at Belmont University and is employed by Harold’s in Nashville.
Martin graduated from UT, Knoxville with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He is employed by Martin Crating Company.
