FCE Club: Lucky Northside

Friendships That Endure was the devotional topic used as Ila Vae Boren read from Proverbs 18 for the Lucky-Northside Family and Community Education Club’s Jan. 22 meeting at The Collection.

Roll call was answered with “one thing I’d like to do this year.” Guests for the day were Ruby Self and Nell Roller.

Hilda Lytle, Extension agent, gave a program concerning poison control, poison audit of the home, jewelry cleaners, medicines and the colors of cleaning supplies.

Sandra Griffith presided and Irene Fuston and Francis Holcomb gave monthly reports. Educational chairpersons appointed for 2004 include Irene Fuston, wellness; Francis Holcomb and Sandra Griffith, environment and special projects; Linda Schlimmer, economics and global; and Ila Vae Boren, family life.

Linda Schlimmer and Irene Fuston represented the Lucky Northside club at Grab Bag Day where love bonnets were cut out and sewn for cancer patients. The two ladies volunteered to work at the Feb. 13 bloodmobile and Mrs. Fuston also attended global leader training.

The club’s meeting on Feb. 26 will begin at 11 a.m. at La Cozona Restaurant. Visitors are welcome.
