CLARKSVILLE (AP) — Lauren Grissom of Shelbyville has been crowned the new Miss Tennessee USA 2006 and will go on to compete in the Miss USA pageant.

First runner-up in the Miss Tennessee USA pageant was Casey Porter from Rock Island and second runner-up was Hailey Brown from Williamson County.

They were among 65 women who competed for Miss Tennessee.

Grissom gets a $2,500 scholarship to attend Austin Peay State University and she also gets a full scholarship to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Crowned on Saturday as Miss Tennessee Teen USA was Ashley Durham from Adamsville. First runner-up was Johnna Disterdick from Southeast Tennessee, and Mary Katherine Ross of White County was named second runner-up. Ninety teenage girls from across Tennessee competed for the title.

Durham will go onto compete in the Miss Teen USA pageant.
