James Edward Stubblefield, 79

McMinnville resident and Warren County native James Edward Stubblefield, 79, was born May 11, 1927 and died Oct. 29 at his home following an extended illness.

He was the sole proprietor and operator of Stubblefield Upholstery for 40 years, a member of West Riverside Church of Christ where he was a former deacon and the son of the late Mack P. and Annie Barnes Stubblefield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Sammy Edward Stubblefield; brothers, Glenn, Kenneth and Charles Stubblefield and sisters, Edith Medley and Roberta Robertson.

He was married Dec. 25, 1953 to Ruth G. Bouldin Stubblefield of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Michael Laverne Stubblefield of McMinnville; two grandchildren, Brandon and Justin Stubblefield and their mother Kathy; brother, Hugh Stubblefield of McMinnville; sister, Judie Woodlee of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at High?s Chapel with Billy Reed and Raymond Curtis officiating. Burial will follow at Armstrong Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service today at High?s.
