Alba M. Gibson, 90

Mrs. Alba M. Gibson, 90, of McMinnville (Green Hill community) died Sept. 27 at her daughter’s residence.

Born Nov. 2, 1916 in Darden, Tenn., she was a retired sales clerk in fabrics at the local Wal-Mart in McMinnville and was preceded in death by husband Denton Gibson, parents James A. and Vic Parks Maxwell, and brother John H. Maxwell.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Raymond Barnhart of McMinnville, brother Robert W. Maxwell of Nashville, sister Frances Maxwell of Darden, grandchildren Lori and (Richard) Adamson and Michael Alexander, great-grandchildren Trevor Adamson and Kaden Adamson, and many other family members and friends.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. Sunday in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Steve Phillips and Bro. Carl Crowe will officiate. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory. The Gibson family will receive friends today from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., and again on Sunday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
