Save-A-Lot locks up Babe Ruth season championship
Save-A-Lot captured the regular season title in the Babe Ruth league after posting a 10-2 record. First National Bank also posted a 10-2 record, but Save-A-Lot defeated First National Bank two times during the season, giving Save-A-Lot the edge in the standings.
Thursday night on the Edley Newman Field, Rotary Club picked up its first victory of the season by downing Cherokee Manufacturing 6-3.
Cody Parkhurst picked up the win, while Cory Sydenstricker took the loss. For Rotary Club, Logan Walker had two hits and scored three runs. Daniel Carter and Nick Grandy added one hit each. Chase Stewart and John Martin had one hit apiece for Cherokee.
Save-A-Lot defeated Sundrop 10-4. Kaleb Rymer got the win, while Derek Brumley took the loss.
Tuesday night Save-A-Lot rolled past Sundrop 16-4. Michael Thrower took the mound for Save-A-Lot and picked up the win. Ethan Wilson took the loss.
For Save-A-Lot, Kaleb Rymer and Kaleb Tilton had two hits each. Wesley Dyer, Dillon Rowland, Chaz Miller, Luke Hillis and J.T. Morgan had one hit each. Tilton and Hillis scored three runs each on the night.
For Sundrop, Aaron Taylor led the way with two hits. Austin Green Derek Brumley, Jonathan Burton, Dustin Bond and Tyler Worthington added one hit apiece.
On Monday Save-A-Lot slipped past Cherokee 7-5. Luke Hillis picked up the win, while Cory Sydenstricker took the loss.
Caleb Rymer led Save-A-Lot with two hits. Kaleb Tilton, Luke Hillis and J.T. Morgan added one hit each. For Cherokee, Zack Rubley, Caleb Northcutt, Justin Ware, Roderick Lusk and Zack York added one hit apiece.
Tournament action will kick off Monday night with Cherokee Manufacturing taking on Rotary Club at 5:30 p.m. In game two, First National Bank will take on Sundrop.
