Suspected rapist still evading police – Authorities believe Fisk hiding out to avoid arrest
|
Still free is Kinsley Fisk, who is the subject of a massive manhunt by local law enforcement agencies. Police say Fisk was picked out of a photo lineup by a Martin Street woman who says he was one of six people who forced their way into her home and held her at knife point.
Lawmen also say Fisk realizes he is wanted for the crime and is actively evading apprehension, either here or in a nearby county.
?Our officers are actively looking for Mr. Fisk because he needs to be brought in as soon as possible given the seriousness of the crime for which he is charged,? said McMinnville Police Major Bryan Denton. ?Anyone who knows his whereabouts is urged to contact us. Anyone caught helping him evade arrest could face serious charges.?
Also identified as one of the two alleged rapists is Heath Crisp, 19, who remains held at Warren County Jail. Crisp?s attorney was unsuccessful in an attempt to have his bond reduced last week.
?This bond might as well be $12 million as $125,000. It?s not fair for the rich to get out on bond while the poor people have to sit in jail,? argued defense attorney Bud Sharpe in the bond reduction hearing for Crisp. ?Given the amount of time it takes for a case to go to trial, my client will likely sit in jail over a year before he goes to court.?
The impassioned plea by Sharpe was to no avail, however, when General Sessions Judge Larry Ross learned Crisp was out on bond on another burglary case when he allegedly participated in the Martin Street incident. The judge was also informed Crisp is one of the alleged rapists.
?You made it easy on me,? Ross said in rejecting a bond reduction.
The victim has reportedly identified Crisp and Fisk as the two men who took turns raping her after they and a group of others forced their way into her home.
Also facing charges are Tosha Hill, 24, who tricked the victim into opening her door, Cole West, 20, and Dustin Couch, 18. All five in custody are being held on aggravated burglary and aggravated kidnapping charges.
Fisk and Crisp have rape charges pending against them. During a hearing last week, McMinnville investigator Bill Davis testified that Crisp maintains the sex was consensual.
A DNA sample has been obtained from Crisp. The victim has reportedly picked both alleged rapists out of a photo lineup.
The victim said she was bound and that her captors threatened her with knives. One of the attackers, the woman noted, held a sword to her throat, evidenced by a red mark lawmen saw on her neck the evening of the crime along with marks on her wrists where she had been bound.
The group came to the victim?s home originally looking for a friend of hers who owed them money, Davis testified, noting the rest of the group left looking for the man, leaving Fisk and Crisp alone with the victim.
The group is docketed for preliminary hearing on Feb. 20 before Judge Ross.
