USSSA June Jam

The USSSA June Jam softball tournament for men?s D and E teams and women?s Class D squads, will be played Saturday, June 24, at the fairgrounds.

The tournament is a state qualifier, and entry fee is $175 plus a $25 sanction fee if teams aren?t already sanctioned.

Three home run limit will be enforced, with additional homers being recorded as an out. Teams must provide their own 44 or 47 core, USSSA-stamped softballs, which will be available for purchase at the tourney.

First- through third-place trophies, as well as an MVP will be awarded, plus 10 all-tournament trophies if more than 10 teams enter. Registration deadline for men is June 21.

WCJFL sign-ups

The Warren County Junior Football League will hold sign-ups for the 2006 season on the following dates: June 30 from 5-8 pm at the McMinnville Civic Center and July 8,15,and 22 from 9-1 at the Civic Center. The last sign-up day will be July 29, from 9-1 at Warren County Middle School locker room. The fee this year is $40 for football and cheerleading. Lady Pioneer basketball camp

Warren County High School girls basketball coach Ann Eades will hold her annual basketball came June 19-22, from 8-10 a.m. each day, at the Dalton Gym at WCHS.

The camp is for girls in grades 3-9, with a cost of $40 per camper. Families with more than one camper may register for a cost of $30 per camper.

British Soccer Camp

There will be a soccer camp on June 19-23 at Hickory Creek School for kids ages 4-14. There are two sessions scheduled with half day and full day registration. Cost for half day is $105 and full day is $135. For more information call 668-3444 or 815-1054. The camp is sponsored by the local select soccer team Cosmos 95.

Youth soccer sign-ups

Final registration for the Warren County Youth Soccer League will be Thursday and Friday, July 13-14, from 5:30 until 8 p.m. and Saturday, July 15, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the McMinnville Civic Center. Sign-up fee will be $45.

The fee will include a full uniform, and players ages 4-16 are eligible to play.

Shelbyville City Open

The Shelbyville Tennis Association is now accepting entries for its annual City Open tennis tournament, to be held July 15-20. Go to www.shelbyvilletennis.com to register online. The entry/payment deadline is July 10.

Turning Two Baseball Camp

WCMS baseball coach Brent Whitlock will be holding his Turning Two baseball camp on July 10-12 from 8:30 a.m. until noon. Cost is $75, which includes a camp T-shirt for ages 7 years and up. For more information contact coach Whitlock at 939-3875.

Pioneer Youth Football sign-ups

The Warren County Pioneer Youth Football League will continue to hold sign-ups each Saturday in June and July, at their field behind Bobby Ray Elementary School. Sign-ups are from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., and cost is $40 for both football and cheerleading. Eligible ages are from 5-12 years old.

Anyone interested in helping coach is also encouraged to come by sign-ups or call 668-2304 for more information.

Future Pioneer basketball camp

WCHS head coach Ryan Smith and his staff will hold the Future Pioneer Basketball Camp July 10-12 at the Charlie Dalton Gym.

The camp is divided into two age groups, with players placed in those groups based on the grade they will be in for the 2006-2007 school year.

Players in the grade 1-4 group will have camp each day from noon-2 p.m. each day, while those in the grade 5-8 group will have the early sesson, from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.

?Early Bird? registration is available for $35, and increases to $40 if you wait until the first day of camp to register. To preregister, send your child?s name, grade (06-07 school year), school, birth date, parent/guardian name, phone number, and T-shirt size (youth S-M-L or adult S-M-L-XL) to ?WCHS, attn. Rotary Golf Tournament

The 20th annual Rotary Golf Tournament will be held August 5 at the McMinnville Country. Cost is $75 per player and you may contact Tommy Crouch at 473-4338, Gene Maxwell at 668-5151 or golf pro Hank Patton at the McMinnville Country Club for more information.

WWJD Basketball Camp

The Fourth Annual WWJD Basketball Camp will be held at the Westwood Church gym this summer. Cost is $40.

Boys and girls in grades 6-8 will be June 19, 20, 22 and 23. An additional week of sessions will be July 24, 25, 27 and 28, with age groups for those sessions to be announced. Sessions will be from 5:30 to 8:30 each night.

YMU Adult Flag Football

Young Men United will be organizing an adult flag football league, to play in late summer and early fall. If your team is interested in playing, contact Robert Wood at 931-224-7445 or Phyllis K. Nowlin at 931-815-9770. Entry fee is $300 per team, and the deadline to enter is Aug. 10.

Tennis camps

Coach David Dunlap will provide tennis instruction at two more camps this summer. Entry fee is $75, with classes divided into three age groups. Ages 5-8 will have class from 10-11 a.m., while 9-11 year-olds will be from 11 a.m. until noon and 12-16 year-olds will be from noon-1 p.m.

Camp dates are June 26-30 and July 31-Aug. 4. For more information call the Civic Center at 473-1212 or Dunlap at 473-6357.

Newtown field rental

Anyone wishing to rent the Newtown ball field for practice call Franklin at either 668-3355 or 273-1186. Cost for renting the field is $10 for a 1-1/2 hour session.

Fairgrounds field rental

Ball teams interested in renting the Warren County Fairgrounds fields may reserve two-hour increments throughout the season.

Practice times are arranged as follows: On Sundays, practices begin at noon, running in two-hour sessions with the final time set from 8-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, sessions are 4-6 p.m., 6-8 p.m. and 8-10 p.m.

Cost for a two-hour block is $15. To reserve a field, leave a message for Karen Moore at 474-2263.
