Lady Vols’ Parker could be out for season

Tennessee freshman Candace Parker, one of the most heralded girls high school players ever, underwent surgery to repair cartilage that was causing persistent swelling in her left knee.

The timetable is uncertain, but doctors said the 6-3 forward could miss the entire season.
A UT athletic trainer said Wednesday’s surgery was a follow-up to an earlier arthroscopic procedure.
