Calvin Eugene Riner, 88
A retired employee of McMinnville Water Department and a member and former elder of Mt. Leo Church of Christ, he served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
The son of the late John Calvin and Lillie Belle Nelson Riner, he was preceded in death by brother, J.T. Helton; and sister, Ruth Harrell.
He is survived by his wife, Mae Riner; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Jim Cole of Lawrenceville, Ga.; brother, James William Helton of Centertown; sisters, Nora Frances Dodson of Knoxville, Betty Catherine Lance Drake of McMinnville and Bessie Cannon of Charlottsville, Va.; and grandsons, Jeremy and Joshua Cole.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at High’s Chapel with Ernest Laws and Lane Dix officiating. Burial will follow at Centertown Cemetery with military graveside rites administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
