Gospel groups to sing downtown

Gospel groups to sing downtown
If contemporary Christian music is your speed, tonight might be the night to take in some relaxation and entertainment downtown.

Main Street Music’s summer concert series continues tonight at the gazebo beginning at 6 p.m. with bands Good Noise and Praise Hym, who will be performing their songs for free.

The offering is part of Main Street McMinnville’s effort to try to coordinate efforts to bring more people downtown. Tonight’s bands follow a variety of Friday night acts included as part of that series, including country and western, bluegrass, gospel and rock-and-roll.

Scheduled for the rest of the summer are bluegrass country music group Shot in the Dark, set for next Friday, bluegrass group Just Lookin’ Around set for Aug. 13, the marching tunes of the Silver and Gold Band set for Aug. 20 and bands for Aug. 27 have yet to be announced.
