It’s time to go hog wild and count pigs
The Standard is going hog wild for the fourth year in a row. Only this year the newspaper is celebrating its annual Pig Day with a new twist.
Showing their courage and love for animals, 15 Standard employees have mustered the guts to be included in our first-ever Kiss the Pig contest. To vote for a Standard employee, all it takes is a $1 donation and all the proceeds benefit the animal shelter. The employee who receives the most money in donations must kiss a pig this Friday afternoon.
The Standard will continue the tradition of what’s been a wildly popular count the pigs promotion. In Friday’s paper, count every pig or hog reference for your chance to win $100. Pictures of pigs should also be counted.
If you don’t want to count pigs or see a person kissing a pig, you are still more than welcome to stop by our office for customer appreciation day. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday we will be giving away free hot dogs and BBQ sandwiches along with chips, drinks and other tasty treats. There will also be discount subscription offers.
So don’t miss out on the fun as the Standard prepares for yet another festive Pig Day.
