Couple pledges wedding vows

The marriage of Stephanie Natasha Glenn and Justin David King was solemnized during a double ring ceremony taking place Nov. 15 at Westwood Church of Christ. Mike Steakley was the officiant.

The bride is the daughter of Steve and Debbie Glenn of Rock Island. Her grandparents are Georgia Adcock and the late Raymond Adcock Sr., Harold Glenn and Delores Glenn, all of McMinnville.

Barry and Linda King are parents of the bridegroom. He is the grandson of O.M. Womack Jr., and the late Mary Ruth Womack, Frank and Bettye King, all of McMinnville.

During the musical program, “On My Way Home” by Enya was played to honor the memory of the couple’s deceased grandparents. Pachobel’s Canon in D Major announced the bride’s entrance and “Forever and For Always” by Shania Twain was played as the recessional.

The registry table in the church foyer was graced with a crystal vase holding an arrangement of delphiniums, oak leaf hydrangea, roses, curly willow, bamboo and English ivy. Placed at a point of interest was the bridal’s couple’s engagement photo flanked by wedding portraits of their parents. Attending the guest register were Amber Kirby and Sydnee Bryant.

At the altar was an arch decorated with clear lights, plumosia and galax leaves. At either side were urns of winter branches and clear lights placed on white columns and groupings of white pillar candles with yellow French ribbons.

Pew were marked with ivory tapers, plumosia and sheer French ribbon.

The radiant bride’s wedding gown was designed with a sleeveless bodice, scooped neckline, low cut back and elongated waist embellished with pearls centering re-embroidered flowers. The cathedral train was enhanced by a fingertip length veil of silk illusion caught to a narrow beaded halo.

She wore Australian crystal jewelry and carried the white Bible that had been held by her mother during her parents’ wedding. The couple’s names and wedding date were embroidered on an antique handkerchief hand-wrapped around the stems of Charlotte red roses and galax leaves, forming the bridal bouquet.

Matron of honor was Stephanie Crouch Glenn, the bride’s sister-in-law. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Barnes, sister of the bridegroom; Shannon Shelton of Cookeville, cousin of the bride; Gina Holt; and Rebekah Wright of Franklin.

The attendants were identically attired in two-pieced red silk frocks styled with narrow straps on a fitted bodice and a long A-line skirt. They carried hand-tied bouquets of Aalsmeer yellow roses and sweet cranberry red berries with galax leaves.

Bailey Madison Glenn, niece of the bride, sat in a wagon that was pulled down the aisle by ring bearer Dylan Barnes, nephew of the bridegroom. Flower girl Amy Adcock, cousin of the bride, preceded her to the altar.

Best man was Travis Barnes, brother-in-law. Groomsmen were Bill Tarpy of Nashville; Curt Cathcart of Hendersonville; Stephen Glenn and Kyle Glenn of McMinnville, brothers of the bride.

The bride’s mother wore a two-pieced, floor-length dress in a cream hue. Beaded lapels enhanced the matching jacket. Mother of the bridegroom wore a three-pieced silk suit in a beige hue featuring embroidered trim on the blouse and jacket. The mothers and grandmothers wore corsages of cream cymbidium orchids tied in French ribbon.

The bride’s parents were hosts for a reception given at the church with approximately 300 wedding guests in attendance. Out-of-town guests came from Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, New York and from points in Tennessee.

For the reception, white linen draped a central round table flanked by long rectangle tables. A Grecian urn was arranged with red hydrangeas, Aalsmeer yellow roses, sweetheart roses, red nandina berries and cork screw willow. Guests tables were centered with scented votive candles on mirrors reflecting clear vases of Charlotte red roses and galax leaves.

Clusters of Charlotte red roses, pittosporum and galax leaves surrounded the three-tiered, square bridal cake as well as topping the anniversary tier.

The bridegroom’s three-tiered, square chocolate cake with chocolate icing was garnished with fresh strawberries dipped in white and dark chocolate.

Servers were Kim Wilkinson, DeDe Holmes, Dawn Christian, Jennifer McMillen and Tracy Herrin

A Power Point video depicting the bridal couple’s childhood was shown at the reception, as well as during a dinner given by the bridegroom’s parents prior to the wedding day at the Inn at Harvest Farms Lake.

The bride is affiliated with the Warren County School System as a second grade teacher at West Elementary School. The Warren County High School graduate received a bachelor’s degree in education in 1999 and a master’s degree in education in 2003 from Tennessee Technological University.

The bridegroom is employed by Masonry Systems. He attended WCHS and graduated in 1996 from David Lipscomb University.

After honeymooning in the Great Smoky Mountains, the newlyweds are residing in Morrison.
