Traveling Titans sign-ups today

The Warren County Traveling Titans, A division of the Mid-State Football League, are having sign-ups this weekend at Nunley Stadium, the site of their home games this season.

Registration will take place today from 5-7 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon. Players aged 7-14 are eligible. Late sign-ups for cheerleaders ages 7-14 who wish to participate with the teams will be held this weekend, as well.

Teams will be divided into four age groups: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and a 13-14 varsity team.

The Titans will play an eight-game schedule, with four road games and four played at Nunley Stadium. The program will meet competition from around the mid-state area such as Shelbyville, Woodbine, Old Hickory, Smyrna, and Riverdale.

All potential players should bring a certified copy of their birth certificate. Sign-up fees will be $50.

The Titans will begin practice in mid-July with their first jamboree to be Aug. 3 in Smyrna. The first game will be at home Aug. 24 at Nunley Stadium, against West Nashville.

The Titans are a sanctioned league and a member of the Mid-State Youth Football League, whose home is in Nashville. All games are to be officiated with TSSAA officials, headed by the OVC. The Titans are governed by a five-member board of directors with four commissioners, one for each age group.
