Georgia Inez Mills, Lila Martin Hancock, Herbert Pistole, Lula Estelle Smith Woodlee

Georgia Inez Mills, 83
McMinnville resident and Warren County native Georgia Inez Mills, 83, died March 30 at St. Thomas Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A homemaker, Wal-Mart employee, and member of Centertown Church of Christ, she was the daughter of George and Cora Belle Brewer Elam and was preceded in death by her husband, George Everett Mills in 1996.

She is survived by son Jim Mills of Lebanon; grandson Matthew Mills of Lebanon, granddaughter Amanda Mills of Lebanon and sister Doris Clendenon of McMinnville.

Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at High’s Chapel with Joe Ware officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. till the time of the service Tuesday at High’s.

Lila Martin Hancock, 94
Warren County native and Woodbury resident Lila Martin Hancock, 94, died March 30 at Woodbury Nursing Center after an extended illness.

A member of West High Street Church of Christ, she started the 10? Store in 1936 and operated it until 1995. She was the daughter of the late Ransome Gwynn and Nannie Elizabeth McVey Martin, and was preceded in death by her husband, N.B. Hancock, and brothers Ream and Carson Martin, and sisters Wilma Beam and Hortense Simmons.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Modena Hancock Fuston and Roy Fuston of Woodbury; grandson and granddaughter-in-law Steve D. and Kathie Fuston of Norfolk, Va.; step-grandchildren Bert and Brent Couch of Norfolk, Va.; sisters Hattie Lou Wood of Woodbury and Kathryn Sain of McMinnville and brothers R.G. Martin Jr. of McMinnville and George G. Martin of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Services will be held today at 4 p.m. at Woodbury Funeral Home Chapel with Roy Fuston, Steve Fuston and Danny Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery.

Herbert Pistole, 88
Sparta resident Herbert Pistole, 88, died March 28 at Cookeville Regional Hospital.

A U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Central Church of Christ, he was the son of James Tom and Allie Mae Holder Pistole.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Kenneth Gard of Palm Harbor, Fla.; brother, Marion Pistole; sister, Lucille Scott, both of McMinnville; grandchildren, Wendy Boggs and Pamela Johnson, both of Oklahoma City; and great-grandchildren, Sarah Hughes, Christopher Hughes and Stephanie Boggs.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Thurman Funeral Home in Sparta with Don Burns and Brian Crow officiating. Burial will follow at Scott Cemetery.. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Thurman Funeral Home.

Lula Estelle Smith Woodlee, 92
Summertown resident and Lacon, Ala., native Lula Estelle Smith Woodlee, 92, died March 28.

A long-time resident of McMinnville, a homemaker, a former member of Bybee Branch Church of Christ and a member of Summertown Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Delia Higdon Smith; and was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Sewell Woodlee.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Bobby Ayers of Summertown; brother, S.M. Smith of Quinton, Ala.; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday at Neal Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg with Ricky Glass and Tony Lawrence officiating. Burial followed at Brace Cemetery.
