WCMS routs riendship Christian
Warren County Middle School’s baseball team had little trouble with Friendship Christian Thursday, winning at Patrick Ramsey Park 7-1.
Friendship scored in the top of the first after a triple and an error. The Pioneers answered with Brooks Majors leading off with a single and Steven Ehrhardt drawing a base on balls. Friendship committed two errors, allowing Majors to score, and then a sac-fly from Joshua Bratcher drove in Ehrhardt to give WCMS a 2-1 lead.
Levi Bain was on the mound for the Pioneers and held Friendship scoreless over the next six innings. The Pioneers picked up another run in the fourth from three hits to go up 3-1.
Warren County’s big inning came in the fifth, when the Pioneers notched three more runs off four hits. Friendship was held hitless in the sixth and seventh innings, while the Pioneers added one more run in the sixth.
For the Pioneers Colby Killian, Jacob Bratcher and Jordan Underhill were 2-for-3, Jevon Ramsey and Joshua Bratcher were 1-for-3 and Majors was 1-for-4 from the plate.
The Pioneers allowed only three hits with WCMS pitchers recording 10 strikeouts and three walks. At the plate, they accounted for nine hits and had just three strikeouts.
WCMS will play Murfreesboro Central Friday at Ramsey Park, with the first pitch scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
