Girls’ senior fast-pitch softball begins season

Results from the 13-15-year-old fast pitch league last week saw Cumberland Bank roll past Womack Printing 5-1.

Each team sent one run across the plate in the first inning. Cumberland scored two in the third and two in the fourth to take the win. Jessica Mullican picked up the win with 11 strikeouts on the night. Brittany Ferrell took the loss. Cassandra Johnson and Chelsea Jones had one hit each for Cumberland and Ashley McBee and Holly Ray had one hit each for Womack.

• Malone’s Remodeling defeated Cumberland Bank 4-3. Malone’s scored three runs in the first and one run in the fourth. Cumberland scored one in the first, one in the second and one in the fifth. Brooke Bowman got the win and Jessica Mullican took the loss. For Malone’s, Bowman went 2-for-2 on the night. Chelsea Jones went 2-for-2 for Cumberland.

• K&R Vending downed Malone’s 12-4. K&R scored one in the first, one in the second, four in the third and six in the fourth. Malone’s scored one in the first one in the second and three in the third. For K&R Kristie King and Courtney Hobbs had two hits each. For Malone’s, Brooke Bowman and Tosha Young had two hits each.

• Cumberland Bank defeated Womack Printing 10-2. Cumberland scored two in the first, two in the second, one in the third and five runs in the sixth. Womack’s two runs came in the fifth. Jessica Mullican got the win with 11 k’s and Ashley McBee struck out seven, while givening up 12 hits. For Cumberland, Kati Rogers had three hits on the night, Kallie Haley and Samatha Paz had two hits each. For Womack, Amanda Ferrell had two hits , Ashley McBee and Holly Ray had one hit each.

• K&R Vending downed Malone’s 8-4. K&R scored two in the third, two in the fourth and three in the fifth. Malone’s scored three in the first and one in the fourth. Cassie Wanamaker picked up the win and Brooke Bowman took the loss. Rachel Walker had three hits, Kaitam Tanner had two hits, Lauren Tobitt, Krystal Richmond, Kristie King and Wanamaker had one hit each for K&R. For Malone’s, Ashlee Malone and Brooke Bowman had one hit each.
