The following things bug me
I have a real problem. Here lately, all I read in the newspapers is the illegal immigrants. Personally the only problem I have is that we are no longer being treated fairly and equally as a people. That is what bothers me.
I take my daughter to school one morning and spend the last 50 cents in my purse to share a milk with her, only to hear from a child across the table that his mom has so many food stamps they have to throw out food at the end of the month so they can buy more. At this moment, my husband is laid off and I went to DHS for some help. They haven’t even finished processing my application that has been there for over a month. If it is OK for us to welcome them over here because they have no jobs, so they can support their families, shouldn’t we get the same treatment?
I mean we were here first. I have paid in money to the government since I was 13. I do believe I have paid in enough money that if I should need a little bit of it back now to help my family get through hard times I should be able to have it.
Another problem that I have, and no one seems to listen, is child support. My husband’s best friend gets picked up by police while he is carrying his mother to the hospital for being delinquent two weeks. My daughter’s biological father is behind over $3,000. Now why isn’t he behind bars?
Now I get to tell my beautiful 5-year-old, who he doesn’t even come see or call and check about, that I can’t afford the cute summer clothes everyone else will be wearing at school. Someone please tell me how that is fair to a 5-year-old?
