Training League begins under new rules system

The boys Training League has changed format this year from its traditional pitching machine to the coach-pitch format endorsed by Tennessee Youth Baseball Association rules.

There are other major rule changes as well. Now only 10 players can be on the field at a time, instead of the entire team.

Additionally, only 10 batters will be allowed to bat per inning, there is a one-hour time limit, and the participation rule will also be enforced. The participation rule ensures every player only sits on the bench 1/2 of one inning per game while on defense and is not removed from the batting order during the game.

If early season action is any indication, it promises to be an exciting year. Five teams are currently undefeated, led by Moore Properties which boasts a 4-0 record.

Satellite World, Sonic, Quality Mold and NHC also remain unbeaten. Here are the latest results.
