WCMS tennis falls at home
The WCMS tennis team lost both matches Thursday against Sumner Academy, with the boys falling 3-4 and girls losing 0-3 at the McMinnville Civic Center Complex.
The Pioneers Blake Hitchock defeated Tyler Cothran 8-6, Travis Gay lost to Austin Burchett 5-8, Drew Gump lost to Tyler Conger 6-8, Morgan Gonder lost to Devin Crotzer 4-8, Bobby Rampp defeated Kyle Garza 8-5 and Henry Hall defeated Clayton Jones 8-1. Kyle Jones and Russel Hitchcock fell to Cothran and Conger 0-8 in doubles.
Only three girls matches were played, with Elisha Ray falling to Juliana Forrester 6-8 and Allison Maxwell dropping a 4-8 set to Tanya Buddah. In doubles, Catherine Hill and Elizabeth Lavoie lost to Forrester and Buddah 1-8.
