Rangers roll past Indians
The Tennessee Auto Rangers poured it on early Tuesday night at Hoover-Milraney Field, rolling over the All State Indians 18-3 to remain undefeated in the 9-10 Cal Ripken baseball league.
Dylan Barnes went 3-for-4, scoring four runs as the Rangers posted 16 in the first on their way to the victory. Garrett Ortiz, Eric Cantrell and Robbie McCollough had a hit each, while Logan Underhill went 2-for-3 and picked up the win on the mound.
Underhill pitched four innings of one-hit ball, allowing three runs (two earned) and balancing 11 strikeouts against one walk.
Alex Hillis had the only hit for the Indians, who used five pitchers in the game.
Jacob Griffin and Tyler Worthington worked the first, while Jacob Newby, Hillis and K.C. Byars all saw action out of the bullpen.

White Sox 23, Astros 6
The Woodlee’s Garage White Sox got a home run from Lake Hillis and a 4-for-4 performance from Dylan Jones as they cruised to a win over the Dairy Queen Astros Monday night.
Jones picked up the win on the mound, pitching two innings and giving up three hits and two runs. Hillis pitched two innings of relief, giving up four runs on five hits and three walks while fanning two.
Daulton Foster had two hits, while Mitchell Barrett, Hillis and Clay Myers had a hit each.
The Astros’ hits came from Dakota Myers, Nick Cantrell and Dustin Boyd, who had two each, and Colin Stubblefield, who had a single. Justin Savage worked one inning, allowing eight runs on eight walks and one hit, while Cantrell pitched four innings of relief.
Yankees 10, Reds 2
The Covenant Academy Yankees evened their record at 3-3 with a big victory over the Cohutta Water Reds, taking a 7-2 lead through two innings and holding on for the victory.
Lee Carden pitched two innings on his way to the win, giving up a single to Ben Wilson which proved to be the Reds’ only hit. Kendall Rutledge, Evan Jones and David Lee all saw action out of the bullpen, with Jones fanning five batters through two innings of work.
Hunter Chilton doubled and went 2-for-4 with four RBIs to pace the Yankee offense, while Travis Ayers and Rutledge also had two hits apiece. Carden, Lee and Glen Llewellyn also had base hits in the winning effort.
Ben Wilson had the only hit for the Reds, while Jessee Hillis and Lance Kelley scored their team’s runs. Wilson pitched a complete game, giving up four walks and eight hits but fanning 13 Yankee batters. Eight of the 10 runs by the Yanks were earned.
