Hawks, Heat to play exhibition in Nashville

NASHVILLE (AP) — The Miami Heat may be resting for the Eastern Conference finals, but team officials already are looking ahead to next season by scheduling a visit to Tennessee for an exhibition with the Atlanta Hawks.

The game will be played Oct. 24 at the Gaylord Entertainment Center, the arena’s first NBA exhibition since 1999. With the NHL lockout wiping out a season, officials have been trying to book more events into the arena that is home to the Nashville Predators.

The last NBA game at the arena was an exhibition between Boston and Utah on Oct. 20, 1999.
