Tourney win makes great gift for Mom

Local bowler Chuck Hollingsworth, along with partner Stacie Eldridge of Tullahoma, competed in the Track Volunteer State Doubles Tournament last weekend in Smyrna.

The pair finished in first place and earned a top prize of $3,000, along with an all-expenses-paid trip to the National Wild Turkey doubles tournament in Las Vegas, which will be held August 9 at Sam’s Town. The purse the duo will be shooting for is $10,000.

“I work in Tullahoma, and that’s where I qualified,” said Hollingsworth. “We had to bowl three rounds and then they take the top 58 in the state. We finished as the top qualifier in Smyrna with a 1687 series.

“This was a big event, and a special moment. My mom was there to watch us bowl, and I told her this was her Mother’s Day present.”
