Mt. Leo woman sentenced for meth lab in her house

A Mt. Leo woman was sentenced to 180 days behind bars for her part in a methamphetamine lab found inside her home in 2004.

The defendant, Mary Susan Pearsall, 50, was ordered to serve 180 days of an eight-year sentence, pay $2,000 plus costs and perform 24 hours public service work on the charge of manufacture of meth. Her alleged partner in crime, husband, Jerry Pearsall, 49, still has his case pending.

The raid happened in late 2004 when lawmen arrived to investigate information meth was being produced inside the house. Mr. Pearsall had prior arrests for meth trafficking and was free on bond on another meth charge at the time.

Officers found Mr. Pearsall inside a shed working on a motorcycle when they arrived. Pearsall would not allow officers to search his home, prompting their heightened suspicions.

It was at that point officers reported seeing items in his garbage can suggesting he had been disposing of meth byproducts. A search warrant was then obtained with lawmen finding a meth lab inside an upstairs bathroom.
