Hazel Reed Pistole, 86

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Hazel Reed Pistole, age 86, was born July 10, 1921 and died Jan. 28, 2008 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness.

A homemaker and a member of the Westwood Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Roy James and Mary Tosh Reed. She was married in 1940 to Ernest Dillon Pistole who preceded her in death Aug. 22, 1985. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Ernest “Dickie” Pistole, Jr.; sisters, Florence Stevenson, Ruby Capshaw and Elizabeth Reed and brothers, Roy and Joe Reed.

She is survived by one daughter, Melba Bonner of Viola; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Jana Pistole of Brentwood; four grandchildren and their spouses, Sam and Kim Bonner of Viola, Lea and Jeff Williamson of McMinnville, Charles Pistole of Nashville and Reese Pistole of Brentwood; three great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Mary Reed of Manchester, Tenn., and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2008 in High’s Chapel with James Vandiver officiating. Burial will follow in the Viola Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at High’s.
