Playoffs needed to settle CRGC scrambles

Results from this week’s scramble action at the Collins River golf course saw the team of Bill Carter, Joe Winton, Billy Pitmon and Doyle Pryor win first place after going to a scorecard playoff in Wednesday’s scramble with a socre of 7-under.

M.W, Duke, Ralph Bess, Ashley Freeze and Leonard Clemons finished second, while the team of Charles Talley, Wade Renstrom, Arlin Schaap and John Craven finished third. Closest to the pin on No. 4 and No. 7 went to Darrell Walling.

On Monday the team of M.W. Duke, Arlin Schaap, Wiley Simmons and Edd Cantrell carded a -9 to win first place on a scorecard playoff. Bill Carter, Wade Renstrom, Ashley Freeze and Rodney Schlimmer finished second.

Last Wednesday the team of Brian Woods, Jim Denning, Darrell Walling and Wade Fraley turned in a -9 for first place. Bill Carter, Wade Melton, Wade Renstrom and Clamon Cantrell posted a -8 to win on a scorecard playoff. Bobby Newby, Jim Cipriani, Charles Henson and Edd Cantrell also carded a -8 for third place. Brian Woods was closest to the hole on No. 4.
