Data Solutions mows down General Equipment
The girls 11- and 13-year-old fast pitch league has been playing their games at the WCHS softball complex this year, and last Thursday two games were on the schedule.
Data Solutions rolled past General Equipment 18-4 in four innings. Data Solutions scored five runs in the top of the first inning, while General Equipment sent two runs to the plate in the bottom of the inning.
Data Solutions added five more runs in the top of the second, five in the third and three in the fourth. General Equipment added two runs to the board in the bottom of the second.
For Data Solutions, Monica Lane led the way with two hits. Tess Fryar and Sarah Owens added one hit apiece. Bailey Gilliam and Chelsey Chandler led the way with two hits each and McKenzi Rockwell had one hit for General Equipment.
In the second game of the night Smarty Pants defeated Hoover and Son Insurance 16-3. Hoover and Son sent two runs to the plate in the top of the first and one in the third.
Smarty Pants scored five runs in the bottom of the first, one in the second, five in the third and five more in the fourth.
For Smarty Pants, Lacie Varner had three hits. Hannah Wood had two hits. Katerina Rogers and Coly Richardson added one hit apiece.
For Hoover and Son, Kelly Arnold, Kimberly Chisam and Stephanie Warner had one hit apiece.
In other action, Data Solutions shutout Hoover and Son 10-0. Data Solutions scored three runs in the bottom of the first, one in the second, one in the third and five in the fourth.
For Data Solutions, Sarah Owens, Tiember Craven, Kelsey Vanatta and Monica Lane had one hit apiece. Hoover and Son got one hit each from Justice Armstong and Maya Denning.
Smaty Pants rolled past General Equipment 18-4. Smarty Pants put one run on the board in the top of the first, five in the second, two in the third, five in the fourth and five in the fifth. General Equipment scored all four of its runs in the third inning.
For Smarty Pants, Savanah Darnbush, Lacie Varner and Coly Richardson had two hits apiece and Jessie Newby added one hit. Bailey Gilliam had two hits for General Equipment. Erica Cantrell. Kayla Brown, Chelsey Chandler and Caitlin Talley had one hit each.
Data Solutions slipped past Smarty Pants 3-2 in six innings. Moncia Lane led the way with three hits for Data Solutions. Adriann Fann, Caitlin Stoner and Sarah Owens added one hit each.
For Smarty Pants, Savanah Darnbush had two hits and Malea Llewellyn added one hit.

Hoover and Son defeated General Equipment 16-7 in four innings. Hoover and Son sent one run across the plate in the top of the first, five in the second, five in the third and five runs in the fourth. General Equipment scored three in the first, one in the second and three in the fourth.
For Hoover and Son, Toni Sullivan collected three hits. Kelly Arnold and Stacey Arnold had two hits each. For General Equipment, Chelsey Chandler had three hits. Bailey Gilliam and Shelby Boyd added one hit apiece.
