G.B. Watson, 66

Dickson resident G.B. Watson, 66, died Sept. 26 at the VA Hospital in Murfreesboro after an extended illness.

The son of Lula Lorene Songer Miller of Spencer and the late Charles Edward Watson, he worked as a deputy sheriff, a water plant operator and as a security officer. He was a member of the Church of Christ and he served in the U.S. Air Force as a sergeant from 1961 to 1971 in the Vietnam War era.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Sue (Burks) Watson of Dickson, formerly of McMinnville, daughters and sons-in-law Misty Lorene Watson of McMinnville, Lisa Ann and Tim Parr of Willobie, Ohio, and Angela Rebecca and Chris Lewis of Dickson, sons and daughters-in-law Steven Wayne and Kris Watson, and Andrew and Tammy Watson, all of Geneva, Ohio, brother Rex Brymer of Raleigh, N.C., 14 grandchildren, Steven, Matthew, Christina, Brandon and Andrew Watson, Gabrial, Clinton and Erin Parr, Jerry and Jonny Forsyth, Daniel, Mitchell and Abbegail Scarbrough and Issac Lewis.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by daughter Amy Estella Markum and brother Edward Lee Watson.

Funeral service is scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Spencer Funeral Home Chapel of Love-Cantrell & Cope with Bro. Rickey Burks officiating. Interment will follow at Shockley Cemetery. Visitation is today from 1 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. till the time of the service at Spencer Funeral Home of Love-Cantrell & Cope.
