Morrison?s girls were held to a single basket in the third quarter and six second-half points Wednesday afternoon, allowing the Irving College seventh- and eighth-grade Lady Tigers to expand on their lead on the way to a 41-16 win on the Lady Eagles? home court.

Irving College went up 4-0 early, and took a 5-4 lead into the second quarter, then expanded that edge to 19-10 by the break thanks to a 5-0 run midway through the second period and a buzzer-beating shot by Cheyenne Cobb at the close of the half.

Momentum stayed on the Lady Tigers? side in the third quarter, as they out-scored their hosts 11-0 to open the third, with Lolita Terrazas? 3-pointer giving them a 20-point lead. Morrison?s only points came on a Leah Blair basket with eight seconds left, and the period ended with Irving College in front 30-12.

Another scoring run from the Lady Tigers sealed the win, as they posted 11 unanswered points once again to open the fourth quarter and coasted to the 25-point victory.

Terrazas led the winning effort with 13 points, including two 3-pointers. Danna Wells added eight points, while Torri Irwin and Kelcy Tate had six apiece.

Taylor Grissom?s four led Morrison, which got two points each from Hanna Nunley, Rachel Mott, Leah Blair, Alyssa Milraney, Erin Dyer and Tiffany Slatton.
