Lawrence Cope Jr., 82
A supervisor in shipping and receiving at Montgomery-Ward and a member of the Catholic Church, he was the son of Lawrence and Marandie Cummings Cope Sr.; and was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Catherine Ramsey in 1999.
He is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Mary C. Gonzalez, Elizabeth A. Cope, Connie and Norman Houseworth, all of Chicago; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Deidra Cope, Garry and Angela Cope, all of Chicago; granddaughters, Mariah and Megan of Chicago; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. tonight at High?s Chapel with Phillip Smith Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Riverside Cemetery. A wake will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. tonight at High?s.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
