Couple to celebrate anniversary June 5

J. Lynwood and Armilda Mathis will observe their 50th anniversary June 5 in Paducah.

J. Lynwood and Armilda Mathis of Paducah, Kentucky will observe their fiftieth wedding anniversary in a celebration June 5 at Clements Street Church of Christ in Paducah.

The couple were wed June 1, 1955 at the bride’s home in Woodbury by her brother-in-law, Odell Powell. Her parents are the late Charles and Vera Haley. Mr. Mathis is the son of the late Floyd and Mamie Mathis.

He is a minister at Clements Street Church of Christ and she is a homemaker. Their children are Laura Thompson of Paducah, Dr. David Mathis of Manchester and T. Todd Mathis of Murfreesboro. They have 11 grandchildren.
