Gordon Franklin Smith, 90
A retired principal, teacher, farmer and barber, he served as Warren County Tax Assessor for 16 years and was a member of the Tennessee Retired Teachers Association and Mt. Leo Church of Christ.
The son of the late Arthur and Lela Shockley Smith, he was preceded in death by sisters, Mattie Smith and Josephine Bell.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Bonner Smith; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry Kent and Twana Smith, William Gordon (Bill) and Ann Smith, and Lynn Clark (Cork) Smith, all of McMinnville; grandchildren, Billy, Matthew Ryan, Travis Kent, Cory Allen and Jeffery Lyn Smith and Gina Suzzane Holt; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Kaleb, Maggie, Colby, Lindsey, Tylan and Taylor Smith; brother, A.J. Smith of McMinnville; special friend, Annette Stewart of McMinnville.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at High’s Chapel with Lane Dix and Ernest Laws officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at High’s.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
