JFL Packers win a pair
Last Saturday in the 5- and 6-year-old Warren County Junior Football League, the Packers picked up a pair of wins by downing the Titans 18-0 and the Steelers 21-0.
Against the Packers, Darius Wright went the length of the field on the opening play of the game for his first touchdown of the year. The 2-point conversion failed as the Packers held a 6-0 lead. Christian Wilkinson scored the second Packers touchdown and completed the 2-point conversion pass to Dylan Bond to put the Packers up 14-0 at the half.
Packers quarterback Wilkinson added his second touchdown in the second half after scrambling out of the pocket. Wright ran for the 2-point conversion as the Packers held on for the shutout.
In the first half of the Titans game, Wilkinson scored on a quarterback keeper, but the extra point attempt failed.
In the second half Wright took the ball and rumbled down field for a touchdown putting the Steelers up 12-0 after the conversion failed.
As the clock ticked down to the final minutes, Wilkinson once again kept the ball and ran in to the endzone for his second TD of the game.
Wilkinson tried a pass to Dylan Bond for the 2-point conversion but it fell just short of its mark as the Steelers picked up the shutout victory.
