Chrisawn appointed Chamber president

Chrisawn will assume her duties April 1, according to Chamber chairman Phil Whisenhunt. A McMinnville resident for nearly 14 years, Chrisawn currently serves as director of music at First Presbyterian Church, is a professional story teller, a musician and choral director. She owned a hotel in Cookeville for many years and is a former teacher.
Chrisawn will bring a wealth of experience to the Chamber. Her husband, Michael, now a city alderman and employee of MPC, held the same position with the local Chamber of Commerce for several years. “Michael was in Chamber work for 25 years, so I have a good resource to tap,” Lea said.
“The board has made a great choice,” said Whisenhunt. “We know she will lead the Chamber to a new level of involvement in the community.”
Chrisawn is also looking forward to the challenge. “I can’t wait to get started,” she said. “The Chamber is so important to a community and I’m very excited I am going to be a part of that experience.”
“I want the Chamber’s involvement with the educational process to improve,” she continued. “I also want to really turn our attention toward tourism. It’s a great way to expand the economic base and government revenue.”
