Meth found during routine traffic stop

A traffic stop led to charges against a Lowery Lane man Friday, when lawmen reportedly found six grams of meth in his vehicle.

The suspect, Scott Michael Dewey, 33, was wanted on unrelated charges and was pulled over on Sparta Street by deputies Friday evening.

According to Sheriff Jackie Matheny, a search of Dewey’s vehicle following his arrest revealed six grams of a substance believed to be meth.

“That’s a pretty large amount of meth to find in one pop,” Matheny said, noting lawmen found no evidence Dewey made the drug himself.
