Outstanding 4-H’ers receive recognition at annual banquet
Those receiving special awards were Joshua Moore, Most Outstanding Junior 4-H’er; Cinthea Comer, Outstanding Junior High 4-H’er; Michael Moore, Outstanding Senior High 4-H Member Level 11; and Garrett Martin, Outstanding Senior High 4-H Member Level I. Joyce Britton was recognized as Outstanding Volunteer Leader and the Britton family – David, Joyce, Davey and Mac – were chosen as the 4-H Family of the Year.
Other awards were presented to the top three 4-H members in each grade division with Junior Awards going to Erika Betschart, Jared Parson and Hailey Jones. The Junior High top three included Brittany Basham, Bethany Bouldin and Evan Pearsall. The Senior High top three were presented to Jason Roberts, Davey Britton and Jennifer Jones.
Club of the Year awards presented for participation, enthusiasm and involvement in 4-H Club meetings went to Mrs. Hillis’ fourth grade class at Dibrell; Mrs. Graves’ fifth grade class at Hickory Creek; and Mr. Reed’s sixth grade class at Morrison.
Most Outstanding 4-H Secretary Award was presented to Jennifer Roop of Centertown with the Officer Team Award going to Bonnie Collier’s fifth grade officers at Bobby Ray.
Over 300 4-H’ers were also presented the Local 100 Percent Award for participating in every local contest held during the school year. Receiving special recognition was fourth-grader Jessica Roop, Centertown, who designed the winning 4-H poster and was presented a T-shirt featuring her design. This same design will be used throughout the coming year for 4-H promotional activities.
Recognized for their county winning 4-H posters were Lauren Lytle, Bobby Ray; Joshua Moore, West; Jared Parson, Eastside; and Garrett Martin, WCHS. Dairy poster winners were overall winner Drew Milligan; Joshua Moore, West; Erika Betschart, WCMS; Garrett Martin, WCHS; and Matt McColloch, Hickory Creek.
County 4-H Photo Search winners accepting trophies for their winning photographs were Michael Moore, WCHS; Sarah Roller, Dibrell; Garrett Martin, WCHS; Joshua Moore, West; Kelsie Estes, Boyd; Lindsey Clayton, Hickory Creek; Samantha Southard, Hickory Creek; Shea Hyatt, Centertown; Jason Roberts, WCHS; and Emily Hobbs, WCHS.
Other 4-H’ers were awarded pins and medals for their accomplishments in project work.
