WCMS golfers win home match

The Pioneer boys won a three-way match at the McMinnville Country Club, defeating both Siegal and Franklin County South, while the girls team bested Franklin County to complete the sweep of the day’s events.
Andrew Brock led the way, carding a 38 as WCMS tallied a team score of 168. Siegal finished second at 175, and Franklin County South finished at 233.
Adding to the Pioneers’ winning total were Alex Self, who had a 41, Cody Durham, who shot a 44, and Grant Bullen, who carded a 45. Will Stern had a 51 and John Ryan Tubb shot a 52 to round out the Pioneers’ totals.
Siegal’s Jason Millard turned in the day’s lowest round, shooting a 38.
“This was a real good match,” said WCMS coach Joe Collins. “We take on Siegal and Tullahoma again on Monday, so that should be a really good boys match against two strong teams.”
Tori Ritz led the way for Warren County’s girls, coming in with a nine-hole total of 48 as WCMS won 105-138 over Franklin County.
The Lady Pioneers only had to face one opponent, since Siegal doesn’t have a girls team.
Jenifer Evans had a 57 for WCMS, while Casey Hopkins came in at 58.
