Lillian Ramsey Bonner, 94
Lillian Ramsey Bonner, daughter of Sam M. and Myrtle Mabry Ramsey was born Dec. 11,1907 in Viola and died March 20, 2002 at the residence of her daughter in Brandon, Fla. She was 94.
A homemaker and a member of the Methodist Church, she worshiped at First Presbyterian Church. She was married to Robert Edgar Bonner Sr. who preceded her in death Oct. 4, 1999.
She is survived by one daughter, Ellen Trimpert of Brandon, Fla.; two daughters-in-law, Patricia Bigbee of McMinnville and Melba Bonner of Viola; seven grandchildren, Sam Bonner Jr. of Viola, Robin Bonner Phillips of McMinnville, Mike Trimpert Jr. of Maryland, Robert Bonner III of East Lansing, Mich., Kate Trimpert and Patrick Trimpert of Tampa, Fla., and Lee Williamson of McMinnville; nine great-grandchildren, Matthew Ryan Trimpert and Robert Michael Trimpert, Emily Kathleen, John Bonner and Robert Miller Phillips, William Butler Bonner and Matthew Francis Robert Bonner, Jensen Scott Williamson and Brent Ramsey Williamson. She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Edgar Bonner Jr. and Sam Ramsey Bonner Sr.
Visitation with the family will be Monday, March 25 from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at High Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Viola Methodist Church with Leslie Glover officiating. Interment will be in Viola Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice or Gwynn Cemetery Fund.

Violet Fay Hillis, 65
Pleasant View community resident and Coffee County native Violet Fay Hillis, 65, died March 20 at her home after an extended illness.
A homemaker and a member of Blue Wing Baptist Church, she was a member of Freedom Travelers gospel group for 20 years.
The daughter of the late Loss and Cora Parsley Haley, she was preceded in death by halfbrother, Cecil Haley.
She is survived by her husband, Louie Hillis; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia A. and Joe Minge of Morrison; sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Teresa Hillis, Steve and Sharon Hillis, all of McMinnville; sister, Gladys Patton of Morrison; halfsister, Mildred Crispo of Cedarville, N.J.; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel with George Roberts and Gary Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at McMahan Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at McMinnville Funeral Home.

Charles W. Tindell, 55
Warren, Mich., resident and Warren County native Charles W. Tindell, 55, died March 18 in Farmington Hills, Mich.
A construction worker and a Protestant, he was the son of Vernon and Esther Adair Tindell.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Norma Jean and Robert Rivera of Holden, Mass.; sisters, Carolyn Clore of Warren, Mich., and Faye Talbert of McMinnville; mom, Mamie Tindell of McMinnville; grandchildren, Steven and Kayla Rivera; nephews, Dale Clore of Warren, Mich., James Pedigo of Cookeville, and Jim Clore of Arizona; niece, Robin Clore of Cookeville.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at High’s Chapel with burial following at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. today at High’s.

Foster Dillard Taylor, 82
McMinnville resident and Warren County native Foster Dillard Taylor, 82, died March 21 at his home after an extended illness.
A retired nurseryman with Fairview Nursery and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was the son of Lester and Maude Jones Taylor; and was preceded in death by sons, Buddy and Johnny Taylor; sister, Melba Rhea and granddaughter, Aleasha Butcher.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Powell Taylor; daughters and sons-in-law, June and Jessie McGee, Ann and Gene Milstead, Kathy and Dwight Pearsall, all of McMinnville; son, Bobby Taylor of McMinnville; brothers, Houston and L.A. Taylor of McMinnville; grandchildren, David and Tanya Milstead, Tracy Herrin, Jessica McGee, Denae Green and Benji Taylor; great-grandchild, Maelee Brooke McGee; step-grandchildren, Kevin and Brandon Pearsall and Angie Newman; step-great-grandchildren, Jeff Smartt, Ashley Redmond, Tenerra Fults, Clint and Emily Newman.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Smyrna Church of Christ with Johnny Clayton and Ron Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation begins at noon today and will begin again at 9 a.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. until time of service Sunday at High’s.

Walter A. (Babe) Wood, 89
Shelbyville resident Walter A. (Babe) Wood, 89, died March 18 at Bedford County Funeral Home.
A native of Shellsford, he was the son of the late H.O. and Molly Casey Wood. He retired from the state of Tennessee having been employed by the Department of Corrections and Department of Conservation. He played varsity football for the University of Tennessee from 1936-38. He played baseball at the university in 1939. He served in World War II in the Pacific Theater, and later in the U.S. Naval Reserve, attaining the rank of Lt. Commander. He coached football at North Carolina State University, the University of Maryland, and Texas Tech University. He was a member of Shelbyville First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Brown Wood; son, Walter W. Wood of Shelbyville; daughter-in-law, Sarah Wood of Shelbyville; sister, Velma Bratcher of McMinnville; and grandson, Micah Wood of Shelbyville.
Graveside services with military honors were held Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Argie Cooper Library. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel in Shelbyville was in charge of arrangements.

Beecher Myers, 63
Rock Island resident and Grundy County native Beecher Myers, 63, died March 15 at River Park Hospital after an extended illness.
A steel worker with Powermatic and a member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of George and Buennie Rizner Myers; and was preceded in death by brother, Vernon Myers.
He is survived by son, Beecher Myers Jr. of Rock Island; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Jack Haston of Rock Island; grandchildren, Nicholas Ryan Myers, Chanae Danielle Myers and Steven Chad Myers; stepbrother, James Rollins of McMinnville; halfbrother, Arthur Myers of McMinnville; halfsisters, Georgia Bawldin of Summitville and Irene McBride of McMinnville; grandchild, Steven Chad Haston; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Sunday at High’s Chapel with Bill Hall officiating. Burial followed at Little Johnny Cemetery in Grundy County.
